By approving a quote, signing a work authorization, or leaving equipment or components with Team DeLacy PC Builds, the customer agrees to these Terms of Service.
1. Services
Team DeLacy PC Builds provides appointment-based computer services including:
- Custom desktop assembly
- Hardware installation and upgrades
- Compatibility review
- BIOS configuration
- Windows installation when requested
- Driver installation
- Basic software installation when included in the selected service
- Hardware and stability testing
Services outside the agreed scope require customer approval before additional work or charges are performed.
2. Customer-Owned Components
Unless specifically stated otherwise, customers purchase and own all computer components.
Team DeLacy PC Builds does not guarantee the reliability of customer-supplied parts.
Defective components are covered by the applicable retailer or manufacturer warranty, not the Team DeLacy workmanship policy.
3. Compatibility Review
Team DeLacy will make reasonable efforts to verify compatibility before assembly.
Customers must provide accurate model numbers and disclose all parts they intend to use.
Compatibility problems caused by incorrect, damaged, counterfeit, missing, or incorrectly described components may require a revised quote or additional service.
4. Windows and Software
A legitimate Windows license is the customer's responsibility unless specifically included in writing.
Team DeLacy will not provide unauthorized, counterfeit, or questionable software license keys.
When Windows is installed without completing the customer's personal account setup, the system may be prepared so the customer can complete Microsoft account creation or sign-in themselves.
5. Customer Accounts and Passwords
Customers should not provide passwords unless they are genuinely required to complete an approved service.
Whenever possible, customers will sign into personal accounts themselves during pickup or after receiving the computer.
Team DeLacy does not intentionally retain customer passwords after service is completed.
6. Customer Data
Customers are responsible for maintaining backups of important files before providing a computer for service.
Computer repair, upgrades, operating-system installation, storage replacement, and troubleshooting can involve a risk of data loss.
Team DeLacy will take reasonable care with customer equipment but cannot guarantee preservation of data that has not been separately backed up.
7. Existing Damage
Existing damage, missing components, bent pins, scratches, damaged connectors, or other visible problems may be photographed or documented during intake.
Team DeLacy is not responsible for damage that existed before the equipment was accepted.
8. Turnaround Times
Any completion date is an estimate unless specifically guaranteed in writing.
Delays may occur because of:
- Defective components
- Missing parts
- Compatibility issues
- Software updates
- Additional testing
- Customer approval delays
- Replacement-part shipping
Customers will be contacted if a significant delay occurs.
9. Payment
The customer receives a written quote before work begins.
For complete builds, Team DeLacy may require a 50% labor deposit to reserve the service appointment after the components have been reviewed.
The remaining balance is due before the completed computer is released to the customer.
Applicable taxes may be charged where required.
